Welcome to My Literary Journal
A journal exploring dentistry, poetry, literature, financial markets, and the art of observation.

Welcome to My Journal Dentistry, Poetry, Literature, Markets, and the Art of Observation I have always been fascinated by the many ways we try to understand the world. Science teaches us to question, examine, and seek evidence. Poetry teaches us to notice what ordinary language often fails to express. Literature allows us to inhabit lives beyond our own, while financial markets offer a constantly changing study of human behaviour, uncertainty, risk, and belief. My interests lie at the intersection of these pursuits. As a dentist, I am drawn to the precision of clinical science, the complexity of oral health, and the responsibility that comes with caring for people. Through dental research and academic writing, I explore the evidence that advances our understanding of health and the questions that continue to shape clinical practice. As a poet and literary writer, I explore another dimension of experience: memory, identity, longing, time, and the quiet contradictions of being human. Poetry gives me a language for what cannot always be explained; literary essays allow me to examine ideas, books, culture, and the experiences that influence how we see the world. I am also interested in the stock market—not merely as a place where prices rise and fall, but as a living study of uncertainty and decision-making. Markets reveal the tension between information and emotion, conviction and doubt, patience and impulse. They offer lessons in risk, discipline, and the limits of prediction. My writing in this area will explore market observations, financial ideas, and the psychology of trading, with an emphasis on thoughtful analysis rather than easy promises. This journal brings these interests together. It is a space for dental research and professional reflections, poems and literary essays, observations on markets, and the ideas that emerge when different disciplines meet. Some pieces will be analytical; others will be personal, creative, or exploratory. What connects them is a commitment to curiosity and a desire to look beyond the surface. I do not believe that a person must fit within a single intellectual category. The mind moves naturally between disciplines. A clinical question can inspire philosophical reflection; a poem can reveal something about perception; a market can become a lesson in human psychology. These connections may not always be obvious, but they are often where the most interesting questions begin. I write to understand, to question, to create, and occasionally to discover that an idea I once held with certainty requires reconsideration. This journal is not intended to be a collection of final answers. It is a record of an ongoing inquiry—into science, language, human behaviour, and the world we share. Welcome to my journal. Here, I hope to make room for evidence and imagination, analysis and feeling, disciplined thought and creative freedom. Above all, I hope to keep paying attention. — Dr Asad Frost 🧑⚕️
